Engaging Taiwanese Taigi Learning: Preschoolers Joyfully Speak Their Mother Tongue
To create a learning environment where young children naturally engage with their mother tongue, the K-12 Education Administration, Ministry of Education, continues to promote the "Preschool Educators Taiwanese Taigi Immersive Teaching Program". By encouraging preschools to seamlessly weave Taigi into daily routines and curriculum design, the program fosters a dialect learning environment such that it could eventually become a living part of everyday life. Since the program's launch, the number of participating preschools has increased year by year. For the 2025 academic year, 400 preschools with approximately 1,400 classes participated. Through an immersive language environment, children gradually become familiar with expressing themselves in their mother tongue during play, interaction, and exploration, allowing local languages to flow naturally in campus.
