Linguistic Empowerment Meets Technological Innovation: Shaping the Future of New Resident Language Education

Announced Date:2026-06-15
Announced Unit:Office of the Secretary
To build a well-rounded learning environment for new residents' children and support their diverse talent development, the K-12 Education Administration of the Ministry of Education has assisted local governments in building New Resident Language Education Advisory Teams. By providing on-site counseling, offering curriculum recommendations, and organizing teaching demonstrations and seminars, these teams help promote education policies for children of new residents. The teams also offer advanced training programs and teacher community activities to strengthen educators' competencies in curriculum design and teaching, classroom management, and student counseling, while empowering them with AI applications and digital media literacy. In 2025, a total of NT$8,165,100 was granted to support local government advisory teams in advancing new resident language curriculum design and research into teaching materials and methods, with the goal of maximizing teaching effectiveness and learning quality. Furthermore, the National Conference of New Resident Language Education Advisory Teams is held annually to sustain the impacts of new resident language education and reinforce cross-regional exchanges and support networks. The conference brought together participants across different municipalities, cities, and counties to share their achievements while accumulating practical, replicable teaching models and experiences through professional communities and cross-regional collaborations.
