Announced Unit:Office of the Secretary
To help students cultivate English reading skills in their daily lives, the K-12 Education Administration of the Ministry of Education has commissioned National Central University to launch the Tomorrow's English Reading Pilot Program since the 2023-2024 academic year. Built around the three pillars of interest, habit, and role modeling, the program encourages students to read at a set time and place, creating a regular reading routine. Students are provided with extensive age-appropriate and accessible English audiobooks and picture books, creating a rich language environment for immersive learning. Through natural language acquisition, children develop familiarity with English and gradually cultivate a genuine love for the language. Schools participating in the program have expanded from 20 elementary schools nationwide in the first year to 43 elementary schools in the 2025-2026 academic year, reaching across eastern Taiwan, rural areas, and outer islands.
