Announced Unit:Division of Junior High and Elementary Education
To create a bilingual learning environment, the K-12 Education Administration of the Ministry of Education has implemented the English Learning Assistant Program (ELTA Program) since the 2021 academic year. The program introduces international students whose English skills meet the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) B2 level as English teaching assistants in elementary and junior high schools. These part-time foreign English teaching assistants can help schools organize bilingual activities such as English conversation corners, reading corners, clubs, talent shows, lunchtime broadcasts, and cross-cultural exchanges, allowing students to practice English in realistic settings and improve their English speaking and listening skills.
