Rotary International Visits Minister of Education to Discuss Senior High School Learning Assessment and International Learning
On February 4th, a 10-member delegation from Rotary International, led by District 3521 Governor Lin, Chen-Bang and District 3510 Governor Chiu, Hsiu-Hui, visited the Ministry of Education. During the visit, Assistant Governor Shih, Fu-Chuan provided a detailed presentation on the recent implementation and fruitful achievements of the Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) program. Long committed to promoting world understanding and peace, Rotary International has upheld the program for over half a century, making RYE the global cultural exchange program with the greatest scale and heritage. Each year, nearly 9,000 students worldwide participate, reaching over 100 countries. In Taiwan, this program has been deeply rooted for over 30 years, selecting and sending over 300 young students aged between 15 to 19 annually to over 30 countries for a one-year exchange. Through living with host families and studying at local high schools, Taiwanese students serve as "young civil ambassadors." While broadening their global perspectives, they also help the world gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan.
