Taiwan Announces Results from 2023 International Computer and Information Literacy Study (ICILS)
The International Computer and Information Literacy Study (ICILS), conducted worldwide every five years since 2013, completed its third global study in 2023. This marked Taiwan's first participation in the study, which involved over 130,000 students and 60,000 teachers from 34 countries. In Taiwan, 169 junior high schools participated, with one to two classes of eighth-grade students selected from each school, totaling 5,112 students completing the assessment. Additionally, 2,233 eighth-grade teachers participated in an online survey. On November 12, 2024, National Taiwan Normal University announced the ICILS 2023 results, with K-12 Education Administration Director-General Peng Fu-Yuan and National Academy for Educational Research President Lin Tsung-Yi in attendance. The results were announced simultaneously with the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA).
