Taiwan and Ottawa Catholic School Board Engage in Educational Exchange, Exploring New Frontiers in Deep Learning
To foster connections between Taiwanese education and international practices, the K-12 Education Administration, Ministry of Education, promoted the concept of New Pedagogies for Deep Learning (NPDL) since the 2020 academic year, and established a four-school consortium. In November 2023, the administration invited Director Thomas D’Amico of the Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) in Canada, for a visit. Director D’Amico delivered a keynote speech, visited several schools, and engaged in discussions with Deputy Director-General Tai, Shu-Fen of the K-12 Education Administration, marking a new chapter in educational exchange between Taiwan and Canada. Director D’Amico extended an invitation for a reciprocal visit to Canada, further solidifying the partnership.
