Talents from Heaven Begets a Bright Future! 12 Special Education Students in Senior High Schools Win an Excellent Student Connoisseur Award

Announced Date:2015-09-03
Announced Unit:Office of the Secretary
When God closes one door, he always opens another. A lot of special education students are endowed with unique talents. Like any other students, they also have peculiar interests and potentials. To encourage gifted special education students to explore their potentials, thereby pursuing their self realization, MOE held an Excellent Student Connoisseur Award Ceremony for Special Education Students in Senior High Schools this year. The purpose of this award is to encourage persistence toward self-fulfillment, and ultimately serve as a role model for personal development.
Due to physiological disadvantages, special education students face tremendous challenges in their daily lives. They have to take much more efforts than others in adapting to the environment and learn new things. They need to break the fetter of physical disadvantage and turn that into strength. Difficult as it may sound, we often heard inspiring stories from news reports, such that street artist with a Down's syndrome, a deaf photographer, a mouth and foot painting artist, a visually impaired pianist, or any other versatile person with disability, try very hard to materialize their dreams, and ultimately make themselves a connoisseur of a specific field in which they put in dazzling performance.
