Employment Forum for the Second Generation Immigrants and New Immigrants Torch Project Exhibition for School Year 2013

To embrace the multicultural background and aboriginal language advantage of the second generation immigrants, and to educate the aboriginal language speaking second generation so that they become Taiwan's valuable human resources, thereby enhancing Taiwan’s international competitiveness as trading pioneers in the emerging markets, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Education especially held the “Talent Developing Employment Forum for the Second Generation of Immigrants and National New Immigrants Torch Project Exhibition for School Year 2013” on October 23, 2014 in GIS NTU Convention Center Socrates Hall. Representatives from the public and private sector, experts, scholars and second generation immigrants were invited to discuss and share opinions on the theory and practices of human capital development and employment opportunities of second generation immigrants. They drew attention to the education and employment issues of second generation immigrants, so the youths can have head start in developing their own strengths and enhancing employment opportunities in the job markets. In this event, nine cities and forty-one schools were awarded in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the National New Immigrants Torch Project in school year 2013.
